Arafat meets Egyptian ambassador in Ramallah

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat on Monday night held a meeting with Egypt's ambassador to Israel, Mohamed Bassyouni, in Ramallah.
The meeting concentrated on the current Middle East peace process impasse in the light of US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright's tour of the region which began with Israel yesterday.
Arafat will meet the US official in Jericho tomorrow, and Palestinian officials told reportes that another meeting was essential in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Friday, Al Watan Al Araby reported today.
For her part, US Secretary of State Albright, indicated in a press conference that it will take more than one trip to the region to solve the on-going problems.
