Syrian president receives Khatami's message, reviews developments with Iran envoy

Syrian President Hafez Al Assad received Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Mohammed Sadir and his accompanying delegation at Al Nawd palace. The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Farouk al Shara'a and the Iranian ambassador to Syria, Hassan Akhtari.
Dr. Sadir conveyed a message from Iranian President, Mohammed Khatami to President Assad. Assad asked Dr. Sadir to convey a reply message and his greetings to the Iranian president and leadership.
Talks dealt with the current developments in the region and their impact as well as with issues of mutual concern.
