Arab countries discuss ways of overcoming deficits in trade balances

The 7th conference of the Union of Arab Investors will be held in Cairo on September 17-21 by the Arab Council for Economic Union, the Arab League, and the Arab Ministers of Economy.
The conference will tackle the issue of deficits in Arab budgets and means of supporting Arab joint projects, increasing the participation of Arab businessmen, investors and financing funds in setting up free zones and joint projects taking into consideration the new laws and guarantees safeguarding investment in the Arab world.
The conference will also discuss a list of issues: the application of agreements of equal treatment and favorite country status between the Arab nations, means of boosting trade within the economic union, the role of the Arab Investors Union in strengthening the joint Arab Community, the GATT agreement and its effects on starting industrial projects in the region.
The conference will also study the investment environment in Egypt, the opportunities and fields of investment, and ways in which businessmen who are members of the union can participate in setting up the joint Arab community, and the needs of the Arab markets when facing international economic unions.
