Qatar satellite channel to replace CFI on Arabsat

The Qatari satellite television channel will replace Canal France International (CFI) on Arabsat from next week. CFI was dropped from the Arabsat satellite after it accidentally broadcast a portion of a pornographic film.
Before this incident, CFI had received a series of warnings for airing programs deemed inappropriate for Islamic countries. The warnings were ignored, and CFI claimed a technical error by France Telecom was responsible when a part of a pornographic film was broadcast to the Middle East.
Before suspending CFI two months ago, a final warning had been sent by Arabsat to the channel's administration against showing pornographic films.
