Israelis intensify shelling of Lebanon areas

Israeli occupation forces on September 8 shelled a number of villages and towns in the western district of South Lebanon, security sources said.

The sources added that the Israeli forces in their positions in Rashaf area and Bara'a sheet, Hadatha and Mhebeib hills intensified the shelling on Hadatha, Haris, Al Sawana, Eita Al Jabal Bara'asheet Sharaa an Tibnin towns.

The sources added that the shelling set fires to the woods and orchards of these towns.

The Israeli warplanes carried out a number of provocative mock raids over the villages of the central district of South Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese national resistance detonated a charge against a Lahd militia unit on the road of Beit Yahoun-Hadatha in Bint Jbeil area. Some unit members were killed while others wounded.

Another group of resistance-men attacked Israeli occupation forces positioned in Hadatha with rockets and machine-guns scoring serious hits.

The Lebanese resistance also shot down a small balloon dropped by an Israeli helicopter over al Tufah district in South Lebanon, the resistance did not identify the purpose of the balloon.

The Lebanese army made a security cordon around the place where the balloon fell and prevented people from approaching fearing that the balloon may be a time bomb.
