Lebanese House Speaker at Bucharest

Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri arrived yesterday in Bucharest where he met his Romanian counterpart to discuss the relationship between Lebanon and Romania and future plans for mutual cooperation between the two countries.
Berri reported that the Romanian government intends to support Lebanon economically and to increase Lebanese investment opportunities in Romania, where privatization plans are about to be realized. The economic cooperation between the two countries will also consist of Romanian aid for the reconstruction and restoration operations in Lebanon.
Berri asked for Romanian support in political matters as well, hoping that Romania will help Lebanon by reminding the European Union of the importance of resolution 425 (that calls for the retreat of Israelis from Lebanon).
