The 3rd Lattakia festival, organized by The Ministry of Tourism, opened on September 7.
The Syrian minister of tourism made an opening speech in which he cited the governorate's contributions to Syrian civilization: the alphabet of Ugarit, Ras Ibn Hani, the Victory Arch and Ras al Basit.
The festival recalls those who laid the foundations for continued civilization, he added.
