American company designs computer complex in UAE

The American Parsons Company started implementing the technical and engineering designs for the Information Technology Complex which is to be established in Dubai by the Real Estate Company with a cost of 160 million dirham ($47 million). This cost does not include the price of the land which is 40 thousand square meters donated by the government.
The complex, which is going to be called the Millennium, is part of a plan approved by the government of Dubai to attract international computer companies which would give Dubai the chance to develop the new field of computer services with dealings worth $5 million till the year 2000.
The project is expected to be similar to the Format in New York, which attracts international companies like IBM, Xerox, and Microsoft. Though the complex will be finished by 1999, the owning company started to contact ITT to start its studies on how to enlarge the complex by the year 2000.
