Niger invites Israel to African-Arab water conference, draws Arab League protest

The Arab League protested to Nigeria, which invited Israel to participate in a conference which began discussing the water situation in Africa and Asia yesterday.
The secretary of the Arab League, Dr. Esmat Abdel Meguid, summoned the Nigerian Ambassador in Cairo to inform him of the AL's dismay at such an act on behalf the Nigerian government.
The Nigerian ambassador commented on the subject by assuring the AL secretary that he has no information regarding the issue in question that he will be contacting his country for further explanation of the situation which he will report in due to time to the Arab League.
