Committees in defense of Jerusalem formed
Regional, Politics, 9/4/1997

The Presidency office of the People's Conference Defense of Jerusalem has decided to form the People's National Committees in Defense of Jerusalem in Jordan and establish contacts to form similar committees in the Islamic and Arab world.

The general coordinator of the conference, Abdul Aziz Al Sayed, said in a September 3 statement that this step aims at wider participation by people's sectors in the Arab countries in defense of Jerusalem along with the Islamic and Arab communities in the overseas, affirming that this step falls within the framework of changing the conference's recommendations from theoretical field practical ones. The people's conference in defense of Jerusalem held in Amman last August with the participation of a large number of personalities from twenty Islamic and Arab countries, discussed the necessity of the people's gathering restoring the occupied lands and rejecting the signed agreements with Israel.
