Israel shells Lebanese civilian areas with artillery

The Israeli occupation heavy artillery in Zaelffata shelled on September 3 the Litani riverbed and the area surrounding western and eastern Zouter.

News reports from south Lebanon said the shelling was accompanied by Israeli warplanes' sorties over Nabatieh and al Toufah districts. The Lebanese army retaliated by shooting anti-aircraft rockets.

The Lebanese resistance also attacked a Lahd militia position in al Sal'a area, scoring drirect hits. The news said that the Israeli shelling of Lweizeh town in south Lebanon early September 3 caused serious damages to the house of the Lebanese civilian Mohammed Fahd Hashem.

Meanwhile, a group of the Lebanese national resistance attacked the position of the Israeli occupation forces in Kamaret al Aroush area. A statement issued by the resistance said resistance men used rockets and machine guns in their attack, and they were able to score direct hits.

Further reports said Israeli occupation troops renewed on September 3 attacks against areas adjacent to the occupied strip of south Lebanon. Security sources said that Israeli occupation positions in al Battesha and Tair Harfa bombarded the towns of Zebkin, Majdal Zone, Majdal Salim and the valleys of A1 Arab, Maremin, al Nafkha, Kafa and the mountain of al Battem in the western sector of South Lebanon.

The shelling was accompanied by fake raids carried out by the Israeli war planes over the central and western sectors.
