Qatar urged not to convene Doha conference
Regional, Politics, 9/3/1997
The presidency of the "People's Conference in Defense of Jerusalem" has appealed to Qatar not to convene the Doha economic summit because of the participation of Israel, which continues to commit crimes against the Arab people in Jerusalem, Palestine, South Lebanon and the Golan.
In a message addressed to Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al Thani, the presidency, which held the conference on August 20 said, "In the name of millions of Arabs and Moslems, of holy Jerusalem and of daily martyrs, we appeal to you not to hold the conference while Israeli bulldozers are busy in Jabal Abu Ghneim, Ras al Amoud and Jabal Al Mukabber."
