Syrian and Iranian cooperation

Syrian Transport Minister Dr. Mufeid Abdul Karim received in Syria on September 2 an Iranian delegation headed by Tehran Metro Company senior official Mr. Manqa.
Addressing the delegation, Karim talked about the strong and historic relations between Syria and Iran and the significance of building a metro in Damascus.
He expressed the hope that a cooperation agreement will be reached with the Iranian government in this respect, which falls within the general framework drawn up by the Syrian President which definites Syria's relations with the people and government of Iran.
Manqa expressed his company's willingness to construct the Damascus metro, as well as to put all its technical services and expertise at the disposal of the Syrian government.
