Bekaa radio stations join group
Lebanon, Business, 9/3/1997
Two Bekaa-based radio stations on September 2 joined a merger of northern radios in an attempt to obtain broadcast licenses, said financier Jamal Bedawi.
Bedawi, who was appointed by ten northern radio stations last month to oversee a merger effort, said Radio Bekaa and Tamnin had joined the project. "Preparations are still underway to complete the application file, after the radios registered their merger with the Information Ministry on August 20," Badawi said.
He called on Information Minister Bassem Al Sabaa to grant the stations the temporary right to broadcast on a single frequency "until the licensing issue is decided."
