Tunisia and Libya increase trade
Tunisia-Libya, Economics, 9/1/1997
Commercial deals between Tunisia and Libya improved remarkably to reach a total of 256 million dollars. The value of the Tunisian exports to Libya is worth 116 million dollars while the value of Libya's exports to Tunisia is 140 million dollars.
The volume of commercial deals is expected to rise since officials from the two countries recently signed a favorite-country economic agreement worth 320 million dollars. Through this deal Tunisia will export some of its products in exchange for Libyan oil.
Experts from the two countries are studying a project which would establish a joint investment company whose capital is expected to be 100 million dollars. The two countries will also finance other joint projects.
