Kurdish groups struggle for power

A fierce battle between two conflicting Kurdish groups, Massoud Barazni's Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP) and Jalal Al-Talibani's Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), broke out in Rawendoes, located on the confrontation line north Iraq on August 27, Al-Ahram daily said today.
"Barazani militia killed many of the Talibanis, who fled from the Saran, a village close to Rawendoes," the paper reported, quoting a Voice of Kurdstan Radio statement.
