Four Israelis burn to death in fierce clash

At least four Israeli soldiers were killed and six wounded on August 28 in a series of fierce gun battles with Amal and Hizbullah fighters, who were mounting a rare joint operation against the occupation forces to mark the anniversary of the disappearance of Iman Mousa Al Saddar.
According to security sources, the fighting raged for at least five hours, setting a large swathe of the scrub land on fire.
The Israelis said that all their causalities were caused by the blaze which its forces started, apparently by firing artillary meant cover their retreat.
The Israeli wounded were airlifted to hospital, where one was reported to be in critical condition.
Lebanese security sources said that at least two Amal fighters were also killed in fighting in the Gandouriah area in the western sector of the occupied zone. No Hizbullah casualties were reported.
