Damascus International Fair opens with 28 countries participations

The 44th Damascus International Fair opens on August 28 at the Fair City Theatre.

Taking part in the fair's current session, are 28 countries, including Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Kuwait, Tunisia, Yemen, Bulgaria, Cuba, Cyprus ,Czeck Republic, France, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Democratic Korea, Poland, Romania, Sri Lanka, Odmotria, Britain, Azerbejan, and Bangaladesh.

Also participating in the fair are 21 countries represented by companies. The countries include: United Arab Emirates, Canada, Belgium, Belarus, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Japan, Holland, Mexico, Russia, Scotland, Spain, S. Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, Brazil and Surinam.

Within the framework of the fair, several artistic activities will be held by troupes from Egypt, Spain, Armenia, China, Poland, Germany and Lebanon.

Meanwhile Saudi Minister of Trade Usama Jaafar Fakih and his accompanying delegation on August 27 arrived in Damascus to participate in the fair.

Kuwaiti Minister of Trade Hassem Abdullah al Nadaf and his accompanying delegation also arrived in Damascus to participate in the fair.

Later in the same day Iraqi Minister of Trade Mr. Mohammed Mehdi Saleh and the accompanying delegation arrived in Damascus on August 27 evening.

Saleh said in a statement, "It is a good occasion to visit Syria to participate in the Damascus fair and to become acquainted with the development and progress achieved by this sisterly country and to talk about potential of our brothers in Syria to export food and medication to Iraq."
