Yemeni opposition boycott Doha conference
Yemen, Politics, 8/27/1997
Yemen's Socialist Party called yesterday for the boycott of the Doha economic conference.
The party, an opposition party, urged the Yemeni government to boycott the Middle East and North Africa economic conference, due to be held in Doha-Qatar next November, if Israel continued its ardent policies in the region, Al-Akhbar daily said today.
"I am convinced Yemen would not participate in the MENA conference because such participation benefits the Israeli interests," said the Yemeni parliament chairmen, Abdallah Al-Ahmar yesterday.
