Authorities arrest 2 persons for dud checks

Kuwaiti Security men at the Public Fund Crimes Department on August 26 arrested a Kuwaiti who issued bad checks to the tune of KD 6,000 Kuwaiti Dinars.
Another Syrian was also arrested for issuing a check for a similar amount, the source added that both men would be referred to the Public Prosecution Office for investigation, and added that a legal study is being pursued by officials from Kuwait Central Bank and other commercial banks, as well as the interior Ministry, to draw out recommendations which could help eliminate the phenomenon of bad checks, which has recently ballooned out of proportion.
A list comprising names of persons wanted by the police for issuing bad cheques, is being prepared.
