We must halt the flight of Arab money says Dajani
Regional, Economics, 8/27/1997

Investment in Jerusalem will be one of the topics discussed when Beirut hosts the seventh Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference next month.

The Jerusalem discussion will show support for Palestinian businessmen who have already begun investing in East Jerusalem to prevent Israelis from buying up all of the property.

But Dr.Burhan Dajani, secretary general of the Union of Arab Chambers of Trade and Industry, said halting the flight of Arab capital is the main reason for holding the conference.

"Investment in the Arab world is getting facilitated by centralized government organizations that deal with and promote investment," Dajani said at a news conference to publicize the four-day event on August 26. "Arab counties welcome investors who now have access to proper channels. Encouraging investment is part of the economic policies of the Arab states."
