Saddam, Arafat plan for Arab summit

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat discussed the need for an immediate Arab summit a few days ago with Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
During a visit to Jordan, Arafat had a long call with Saddam. During the call, the two presidents exchanged views on the necessity of holding an immediate Arab summit to review the latest developments and events in the region, Al-Ahram daily said today.
Saddam and Arafat agreed to contact the Arab leaders in an attempt to persuade them to convene a summit soon, it added.
