Ghanim to Saudis: make border issue a cooperation bridge
Yemen-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 8/22/1997
Yemeni Prime Minister Farag Ghanim stated Wednesday that Yemen did not want a wall separating Yemen from Saudi Arabia, rather he said he feels the border issue should be a bridge for cooperation between the two countries. The nations have been engaged in a long-standing border dispute that has occasionally created minor conflicts.
Gahnem said he does not expect the Yemen-Saudi border problem to be settled in the near future. He expressed hope that the two parties would reach a quick but just and fair solution, adding that it's difficult, if not impossible, to assume good relations if one of the parties imposes his opinion on the other.
