Medics welcome tranquilizer ban
Lebanon, Medicine, 8/22/1997
The Lebanese Association of Physicians on August 21 welcomed a decision by the Ministry of Health banning the sale of all tranquilizers without a prescription.
A statement issued by the association called on Health Minister Suleiman Franjieh to enforce the decision on pharmacies and to issue lists of drugs that can be sold without a prescription.
It also asked the Ministry of Economy to monitor the unauthorized sale of Deflamol and common painkillers such as Panadol and Aspirin.
