Conference for Defense of Jerusalem opens

The people's conference for "Defense of Jerusalem" opened in Amman on August 20 in the presence of 20 delegations from Arab, Islamic and world countries under the motto "Jerusalem is ours over 6,000 years."
Speeches delivered at the occasion emphasized the Pan-Arab and Islamic Character of Jerusalem, as well as on the need to halt any form of normalization with those who demolish Jerusalem sacred sites to build Israeli settlements instead.
The speeches referred to the constant US support for Israel and the Israeli-Turkish military alliance as well as the Israeli bids to annex the Golan. The Turkish-Israeli military alliance seeks to pressure Syria, speakers warned.
