English for everyone
Egypt, Local, 8/20/1997
Egypt has made an agreement with the BBC to purchase the curricula for teaching English, to be implemented at the elementary school level. Dr. Hussain Bahaldin, Minister of Education, signed the agreement representing the Egyptian side, said an official source at the British Embassy in Egypt yesterday.
The source stated that this is the first time an Arab minister will use the English language teaching curricula from British radio for school students.
The curricula will include a group of short stories, grammar exercises, and dialogues. A training program will be organized between August 23-26 to inform teachers about the most up-to-date teaching methods such as videotapes.
