Saudi Arabia denies plans for free zone with Israel
Saudi Arabia, Economics, 8/20/1997
A Saudi official denied yesterday, the existence of plans to establish a free zone between Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Israel.
A Jordanian newspaper, quoting the Jordanian Prime Minister, Abdel Salam Al-Magali, has said lately that a joint-free zone would be established between Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel in Aqaba.
The insertion of Saudi Arabia's name in this free zone had no grounds at all, the official announced in a Saudi News Agency statement.
