Syrian-Iraqi oil line to reopen

Iraqi Minister of Trade, Mohamed Mahdi Saleh, stated that technicians are currently renovating the oil-pipeline connecting the Iraqi city Karkouk to the Syrian cities of Benias and Tartous," Al-Ahram daily said today.
The oil line, closed in the eighties, is being prepared to transfer Iraqi oil to Syria.
Meanwhile, Iraq resumed yesterday its oil export through the Iraqi Bakr port after it had resumed oil exportation through Turkey last week, the newspaper added.
