Arab League supports Comoran unity

The Arab League expressed interest in maintaining the territorial integrity of the Comoros islands and support for this Arab and African country to overcome its current destabilizing crisis. The Comoros islands are presently facing a secessionist movement.
These remarks were made by Dr. Esmat Abdul Maguid, the league's Secretary-General, during a telephone conversation with Salem Ahmed Salem, the secretary-general of the Orgnization of African Unity (OAU), Al-Akhbar daily paper said today.
