Mubarak says Syria will never quit one inch of Golan
Egypt-Syria, Politics, 8/18/1997

President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt has affirmed that Syria will never accept other than full withdrawal from the occupied Golan, emphatically noting that President Hafez Assad will never abandon one inch of the Golan.

In remarks he made to Al Ahram daily published on August 17, President Mubarak expressed disapproval of what Israel is saying about the Golan, stressing that whatever the Israelis said about the Golan, the peace process cannot resume without Israel's commitment to full withdrawal from the occupied Golan. President Mubarak warned against the Israeli government's persistence in its current policy and refusal to implement the agreements and commitments reached on all tracks.

President Mubarak confirmed that the Israeli policy of siege and starvation against the Palestinian people is a very dangerous matter.
