Egypt establishes cinematic database

The National Cinema Center, chaired by Dr. Madkor Thabet, has decided to set up the first database on Egypt's documentary film industry.
The database unit will provide students and professors with information about documentary films and prominent Egyptian short film producers.
Ashraf Ramadan, who is responsible for the information in the unit, said that the first task was to prepare an archive of veteran filmmakers.
He added that the unit now includes data on about 318 films produced by the center since it was established in 1980.
