Libya and Egypt discuss security cooperation

Interior Minister Hassan Al Alfi met the secretary of the Libyan general popular security committee, Mohamed Al Hegazi, in Egypt yesterday to hold talks on consolidating cooperation between the two countries' security and police.
The two sides discussed the possibilities of bolstering cooperation between their police and experts and working together to combat crime, added the interior ministry source.
The Libyan visitor applauded the ties linking the two countries, describing them as "sturdy and deep," and citing the role played by the Egyptian Interior Ministry in developing its categories which benefit Arab security.
The Libyan permanent envoy to the Arab League, Salma Rashed, attended the meeting.
