Armed Islamic Group claims massacre responsibility

In the Douera district south of Algiers early on August 14 attackers killed 15 people, including six children and two women, by slitting their throats.
The rebel Armed Islamic Group's (GIA) leader said that all responsibility for these and other massacres belongs to his party, and he will continue in this way to kill "all enemies of Islam," from the youngest of their children to the oldest of their elderly. Also he declared that his GIA is the only Flame of Jihad in Algeria.
Islamic Salvation Front leader Abbas Madni, recently-released from Algerian prison, condemned the attack and all other collective massacres against civilians, and he stated that the massacres have nothing whatsoever to do with Islam, Al-Ahram Al-Masai newspaper said yesterday.
