World Bank helps to modernize agriculture in Egypt

The World Bank has decided to offer Egypt credit facilities totaling 200 million US dollars to modernize agriculture and introduce the new technology in this field.
The head of Egypt's department at the bank, Khalid Ikram, said the credit included for the first time the training of Egyptian technical cadres on how to deal with the nature of the soil in the southern valley and methods of growing crops which best suit the soil, in addition to purchasing equipment to pump water from wells to cultivate the land there.
