Likud MK calls for Darawsheh condemnation

Ruby Rivlin, a Likud member of the Knesset, appealed to revoke Arab Israeli MK Abdul Wahab Al Darawsheh's parlimentary immunity. Darawsheh, currently visting Syria as a member of an Arab Israeli delegation, spoke in support of Palestinian refugees' full right to return back to occupied lands in Jerusalem and Golan.
Darawsheh reportedly made the statements on August 11 while addressing a Palestinian refugee camp in Syria. The remarks met with widespread disapproval in the Knesset, and Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Katsav stated that Darawsheh and other MKšs on the trip who criticized Israel had "disqualified" themselves as suitable leaders for their constituants, according to the Jerusalem Post.
