Syrian newspaper condemns Israeli security steps

Syrias "Al-Thawra" daily newspaper accused yesterday Israel of attacking civilians and making Palestinians starve under the pretext of security.
"Netanyahušs government, under security pretexts, launches daily malicious aggressions on south Lebanon and commits massacres against innocent civilians... A starvation siege against more than two million Palestinian continues for the 11th day under the same pretexts," the newspaper said.
It added that U.S envoy Dennis Ross's current mission would not succeed unless Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu changed his policies. "Efforts should focus on solving the roots and real causes of the recent Jerusalem bombing... the anger, dismay, depression, lack of trust and oppression which the Palestinians feel as a result of the Israeli policies," it said.
