Hamas memo on Israeli terror practices

The Palestinian national resistance movement, Hamas, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu¹s ascension to power has escalated acts of oppression carried out by the "Zionists" against the Palestinian people and their national rights.

In a political memorandum addressed on August 9 to Arab and Moslem governments, to a number of western states interested in the region and to a number of personalities, Hamas stated its vision and stances toward the development of events in the Palestinian area.

Hamas referred to "Zionist" acts of genocide, mass arrests, blockades, settlement and detention, masterminded against the Palestinians.

The memorandum said the "Zionist" policy is based on doing whatever it likes, while the Palestinian people are deprived of their basic rights and are subjected to unbearable sufferings. "Heavenly legislation and international norms and conventions stress peoples' right to defend themselves against brutal aggression and occupation and to fight by every available means for liberation, freedom and independence," the Hamas memorandum said.

It added that the "Palestinian people should not be an exception to deprive them of this right."

"Confronting these Zionists is a direct Arab-Moslem responsibility, and the international community shoulders the responsibility of halting unjust and inhuman practices carried out by Zionism against the Palestinians," the memorandum concluded.
