Siamese twins born meet tragic end

A pair of Siamese twins joined together at the back were born at Jeddah Maternity Hospital.
A medical team carried out an emergency operation to separate the babies in an attempt to save their lives, unfortunately however, the two babies died immediately after the operation.
Dr. Abdullah Al Shahari, a consultant pediatrician in the hospital, said that such cases were very rare, happening once in every 50,000 births.
He added that the causes of such cases could not be determined.
