Arab League to decide on MENA conference in September
Regional, Politics, 8/7/1997
The Arab League will decide in its September meeting the final position of the Arab countries toward participating in the Middle East and North Africa economic conference held in Doha, Qatar, in November, well-informed Arab diplomatic sources stated.
The resolution would be one of the most important resolutions to be taken by the Arab foreign ministers within the framework of halting normalization with Israel unless it complies with international legitimacy, puts its commitments and agreements with the Palestinians into force, and abandons its settlement expansion in all the occupied Arab territories, especially Jerusalem, the sources said.
"There is an agreement among the Arab countries to take practical measures assuring Israel that the Arabs will not bow to the Israeli maneuvers aiming at Judaizing Jerusalem and keep parts of the Golan and south Lebanon territories under Israeli domination," they added.
