Izzat Ibrahim suffering from leukemia

The Iraqi vice president, Izzat Ibrahim, 68, will travel to Vienna from Jordan to receive medical treatment at a specialized medical clinic.
Iraqi official resources said that Izzat Ibrahim is suffering from leukemia, and his wife was allowed to travel with him, indicating that his condition is serious.
Iraq normally bans senior officials from traveling outside the country with their family to prevent them from defecting to other countries.
