American aid to Palestinians stops

US State Department spokesman Jim Foley announced that American aid to the Palestinian Authority would stop as of next week. He mentioned that that aid might be resumed when the new congress begins in September.
Foley attributed this to the fact that the Congress starts its vacation without the extension of the legislation which, ending in September, determines the aid allocated by the US to Palestine.
