Hizbullah leader promises attacks on Israeli occupation
Lebanon, Military, 8/6/1997

"Israel will witness explosions and suicide bombings inside all of its posts inside Palestine occupied land," Hizbullah deputy Secretary Gen. Naeešm Kassem told a crowd of one thousand in Nabatiyeh in southern Lebanon at the funeral of five Hizbullah fighters who were killed by Israeli commandos.

Meanwhile, the 48th air assault into Lebanon in 1997 came shortly after the pro-Iranian guerrillas attacked a pro Israeli outpost in Israeli south Lebanon occupation zone.

Sources identified the dead as 70-year-old Mohammed Hassan and 72-year-old Ali Akl. Two farmers and two children were also wounded in the attack, the sources added. Thus, 10 Lebanese civilians have been killed in south Lebanon since the beginning of the year.

Four planes fired a total of eight rockets into the hills of Libyan-Yohmour in the southeastern part of the Bekaa, north of Israelšs occupation zone. The Israeli army confirmed the attack.
