King Hussein hopes Israel will succeed in serving the cause of peace

In an interview with the Israeli television King Hussein of Jordan said that he still hoped that the Israeli government "will succeed in serving the cause of peace."
Meanwhile a group of 13 Israeli deputies met with King Hussein in Amman on August 3 discussing security cooperation and ways to reactive the Middle East peace talks.
The head of the delegation, Mr. Saleh Tarif, said the group asked King Hussein to intercede with the Israeli government to change its obstinate peace policy. And King Hussein said he is "unhappy with the policy of the current government in Israel."
Tarif said the delegation and King Hussein also discussed ways of facilitating the flow of goods and people through border crossings linking Jordan with the West Bank and Israel. The Knesset delegation is the second to visit Jordan recently.
