Crisis over youth world cup logo

Disagreements between Sherine Yousri, a director, and the committee organizing the Youth World Cup , due to be held in Cairo next September , have recently exploded because of the World Cup logo and its ownership.

Sherine Yousri, an owner of a private advertisement agency, assured that the World Cup logo is his own creation. "I asked for LE 3 million in return for exploitation by the organizing committee. Then it wanted to attribute my own creation to another person. This is a serious incident. The Arab Union offered 50 % of the revenues if I keep my mouth shut," he said .

The Marketing and Advertisement committee head, Ahmed Naser, explained that the ownership of a logo designed for a certain round goes to the Union. "As regards to the Youth World Cup logo, I think Sherine Yousri has tried to seize the opportunity and go to the court for materialistic reasons," he added .
