Tunisians wary about Middle East peace
Tunisia, Politics, 8/4/1997

Tunisian President Zine al-Abdin Ben Ali urged the world community to work actively "to save peace and thwart the dangers facing the Middle East."

The official TAP news agency quoted Ben Ali, who was addressing diplomats accredited to Tunis, as saying that he was deeply concerned by Israelšs anti-peace policies.

"We are deeply concerned by the obstruction of the peace process, the freezing of the agreements on which it is based and the dangerous deadlock due to Israelšs persistence in its policy of settlement in Al Quds (Jerusalem) and elsewhere."
