Baghdad offers its citizenship to Arabs

Iraq announced on July 27 that it would allow all Arabs except Palestinians to apply for citizenship, the official Iraqi News Agency reported.
The Arab League has long demanded that no Arab country grant citizenship to Palestinians, saying Palestinians must return to their homeland. It was not clear why Iraq announced the decision.
The decree said that applicants must be adults born to Arab parents who have lived continuously in the Arab world.
