Clashes over killed Israelis in Jordan

Police clashed with protesters calling for the release of a Jordanian soldier sentenced to life in prison for killing seven Israeli schoolgirls. At least 12 people were injured and 30 were arrested. A government official called the protest "a minor gathering."
The protest broke out early yesterday and lasted six hours the 57 year old mother of the soldier, Cpl. Ahmed Daqamseh, was among those arrested, his cousin said.
In similar developments, students of the Jordanian University stressed that the sentence passed on Ahmed al-Daqamseh for shooting seven Israelis who mocked him while praying is in fact a medal of honor, and an action of the Arab nation's conscience which rejects the peace accords.
The students expressed wonder over sentencing al-Daqamseh at a time when Israel acquitted an Israeli soldier involved in shooting al-Khalil citizens on the claim of being insane.
