Jordan launches fertilizer plant with India

Jordan and India inaugurated on July 21 a 170 million US dollar phosphoric acid plant in southern Jordan to supply the Indian market, company officials said.
The project, a joint venture between Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JMPC) and India's Southern Petrochemicals Industries Company (SPIC), will produce over 200,000 tons annually of phosphoric acid at a plant near the major Shifiyeh mine, which provides the basic raw rock phosphate material.
