Israel arrests five in Syrian Golan

Israel Radio stated on July 21 that troops arrested five Syrian youths on charges of resisting the occupation and spreading the spirit of resistance against Israeli occupation soldiers.
Meanwhile in Kuwait, the Kuwaiti "Al Rai Al Am" daily published a report on July 21 critical of Israel's practices in the region.
The report said many Syrian young men were recently arrested by the recently arrested by the occupation troops to prevent them from holding a summer camp to identify the Golan's history, geography and culture.
The daily quoted Fawz Abu Jabal, a member of the Arab Association for the Golan's development, as saying on July 21 that the occupation authorities are imposing ill curricula on schools, which include false information about Golan's history, and are forcing students to study claims on history, geography and culture that have alleged connection with Judaism.
Abu Jabal also said Israelis confiscated 95 percent of the Golan's territory and displaced 90 percent of its citizens.
