Terrorism alien to Islam, conference tells West

The recently concluded forum in Egypt on Islam and the West sought to dispel misconceptions about Islam, said an eminent Egyptian religious authority yesterday.
Egypt¹s Grand Sheikh Imam Mufti Nasser Wasel told Al Ahram newspaper, based in Cairo, that the gathering, attended by officials and scholars from over 80 Countries, highlighted the fact that violence and terrorism were alien to Islamic principles.
